Dr. Siham Fatani earned her MS/Ph.D. in Bioscience with a focus in cellulase-producing microorganisms from the Red Sea environment.

Siham obtained her undergraduate degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah in Genome and Biotechnology. This journey was then followed by a pursuit in post-graduate studies at KAUST started in 2014 for a master's degree when she joined the CBRC computational bioscience research center under the supervision of Prof. Takashi Gojobori, Followed by completing her Ph.D. study in Dec 2019. During her study and work with Prof. Takashi Gojobori's group, she learned a lot of things saying "Working with prof. Takashi's group taught me how to always work very hard, respect, think wisely, be on time, organized and always be patient to get good research work".

During her time at KAUST, she was a very active member serving as an orientation leader, ambassador, and Enrichment web volunteer as well as participating in numerous student's activities. What she will truly miss in KAUST is her friends there, as during these five years she had built up a good relationship with different people from different regions which made her journey in KAUST memorable.

Dr. Fatani now is working in HALLIBURTON which is an oil and gas company as a senior chemist in the Research and Development department in DAMMAM. She is now focusing and working on characterization and optimization of the drilling fluids project in HALLIBURTON. Her aim now is to do research and develop new techniques that would help the success of the company.
